WHEN: The 2008 General Convention will be held on Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, 28-29-30 October at The Coshocton Village Inn and Suites, 115 North Water St., Coshocton, OH 43182. REGISTRATION FEE AND DEADLINE:
An advance registration fee of $50.00 per person, payable to UECNA must be sent by June 1, 2008 to Nina Carelock, P. O. Box 3138, Bella Vista, AR 72715. Each parish is entitled to two delegates plus alternates, plus the clergy.
RATES AND RESERVATIONS: Rates are $65.00 per night plus tax for rooms (some with Queen beds) and $75.00 per night for suites (some with Queen beds). Reserve your rooms now, especially if you want a suite or a Queen bed as there are only a few available. All meals, except the Wednesday Evening Banquet, the cost of which is included in the Registration Fee of $50.00, are on your own. The Inn has dining facilities and offers a Deluxe Continental breakfast each morning. There are restaurants and shops in the area. The Inn offers a deluxe Continental Breakfast daily.
TRANSPORTATION: Air transportation is through either Akron-Canton Airport or the Port Columbus Airport. Traffic is lighter at the Akron-Canton facility. Coshocton is located approximately 25 miles west of Interstate 77.
FOCUS OF THE CONVENTION: The General Convention will focus on issues related to the future of the UECNA, the succession process for the Archbishop's office, relationships with other Anglican bodies, and classes for the clergy in protocol, hierarchy and Church disciplinary procedures, plus many other topics of broad and general interest to parishioners and clergy. Early in September, Archbishop Reber will send out complete information including maps and directions.
OTHER ATTRACTIONS IN THE COSHOCTON AREA: Plan to enjoy the Fall in Ohio's most beautiful region. Savor its smells, the leaves, the apples, and wood smoke. Plan also to do some early Christmas shopping at the nearby Historic Roscoe Village and the Longberger's Basket Factory.
